Mr. Mike Taylor is an American and a PhD candidate in English at the University of British Columbia where he also teaches academic writing. Mr. Taylor holds a Master’s Degree in American Studies, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Brigham Young University. Mike has taught and tutored English as a second language at the secondary and post-secondary levels throughout Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and the Pacific Islands. Mike holds a certificate in university instruction and has developed and taught university level literature and academic writing courses, workshops, and teacher training seminars.
Beyond the university, Mike has also developed online academic and ESL writing courses with over 900 total registered students. He has also received a number of research and writing awards, has presented his research at the most prestigious language and literature conferences in the world, and has published his research in some of the leading academic journals in the field. Mike is currently the founder and chief editor at The Writing Consultants, a company dedicated to helping students and professionals better express themselves and their companies in English.
