Dr. Carmela Toews is a Canadian instuctor with a PhD in Linguistics from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Toews specializes in Phonetics, Phonology, Syntax and Semantics.
Dr. Toews has taught students of different ages randing from secondary school to University students at the University of British Columbia. One of her many focuses is helping other with their pronunciation and making non native English speakers speak natively.
During her academic career, Dr. Toews has published a number of papers and articles in journals and magazines. She has also received a number of awards for her work and research at the University of British Columbia.
Continuing her work with ESL students, Dr. Toews is the head of Immersive Education Academy’s pronunciation workshop lessons and focuses on building a strong foundation with new students and existing students. Dr. Toews also acts as the lead instructor in the iEd Toddler Program for very young children.
